Pistons can't push ores in a cobble gen?!

Pistons will never push ores in skyblock.

In skyblock before vulcan came, pistons could push them and i know that because i played then so my question is why they can push it anymore

Today i was making a cobblestone generator, and i came to the problem with the pistons(and sticky I tried both). And the pistons only push the stone blocks, and the will left the ores..
