The fact that spawner mobs are not hostile gives us many options although this build negates line of sight anyways.
The lower mobs are spawned in an empty room below and sent up a water elevator blocked at the top with a wall block. currently skeletons, zombies, and cave spiders fill the lower section of the multi spawner. The water elevator stops one block below the surface so the mobs do not drown, although on occassion a zombie is converted to a drowned.
then above is a small room for blazes, regular spiders, creepers, and more. I currently only have blaze in the top section of the multi spawner.
And together this is a very useful multi spawner. The drops and xp orbs from below automatically come to our feet and get picked up thanks to the water elevator. the items and xp from above sit on the top wall block for easy access by a jump.
When left unattended the entity cramming rule takes care of the too many mobs problem.
