Helping the Community

I play intermittently during the day (I have three kids so my time is limited online). However during that time I notice that a lot of new people join to play and those that do join ask for help as soon as they join in. I'm curious to know why they don't try and help themselves. I mean it is mine craft after all... Why not mine and start their "base" I get that it can be kind of difficult right off the bat but shouldn't they play the game like they should?

I'm all for helping people when they need it and try to give a hand when people ask but it's getting kind of ridiculous..


I've left a few bases loaded with chests and other things for people around but no one seems to notice and or care that they are there.

Most players on Survival are for themselves, there's 2 main factions that thrive there. Warriors and The Empire, it's very difficult to steer clear of either as both kill and destroy. Just be very careful who you trust.

I haven't heard of either. I just like the challenge of survival. Especially on a server, you never know who you'll run into.

As ksmudger said, never trust anyone. Some people on the internet are extremely rude and don't acknowledge all the hard work other players go through to help them (like players nagging staff). Spreading goodness is one of the best things you can do. Basically it's like giving a homeless person some food, but they deny it because they want money for drugs. The world is cruel, but we do the best we can.

As someone who's new, most of the stuff is easy and I can figure it out quite easily.

The main problem comes to the commands, a lot of people are still tricky with claiming. When I think survival, I generally think vanilla so that threw me off upon joining and now I have to figure it out. Most of their problems come from command help, I believe. Other then that, if you're talking about the annoying guys who keep asking for stuff well...Those guys are a special kind of scum.
