Recent update changes have stonewalled the stone generators as now it generates cobblestone, stone, and most ores.

With change comes rework and so I felt the need to put up a Cobblestone Generator design for you all to enjoy. Just a basic cobble gen with collection.

To collect what you mine there is a row of minecart hoppers on rails that drop items into a hopper chain that deposits them into a barrel.

For the water side I make use of waterlogged stairs in a 2 block tall 5 block long pattern. (5 blocks being as far as a pickaxe can reach) Trapdoors hold the water in the stairs and slim the look of the build.

Using your floor blocks of choice, contain the lava underneath the build. I use trapdoors to surround the lava however solid blocks all around the build would be optimal to prevent some blocks from leaping out of the generator when broken.

Place 5 lava buckets across the top row of trapdoors. The lava will flow out and down. When it flows down to the floor it will flow out again. Each time lava flows out it hits the back of a waterlogged stair and creates a block.

No redstone clock, should be good to go.

With efficiency 5 and haste 2 this cobble gen keeps up but you need too as well. You will collect the drops closest to you most times yet the hopper minecarts do a great job of grabbing most drops.

I prefer using the silk touch and using fortune later but with mending and the xp of ores one could make good use of fortune as well.

I wonder, have you been asking about the flower pot on the barrel? :)

The flower pot plays a big roll in the use of the cobble/ore generator.

Standing on the flower pot, putting nose to the cobble makes ones line of sight almost perfectly in the middle of the 2 rows of cobble. With minimal movements a person can mine both rows and the generator will always have more ready.

Try not to mine the waterlogged stairs or the row of hopperminecarts, if that even needs to be said. wink wink

Hope the helps, have fun out there.
