Hello. I was having some fun discovering different things as one does in Minecraft when I decided to make a 5x5 base and see what I could come up with.
Surprisingly this has 3 floors, a level 30 enchant table, 40 storage crates, sleepy time corner and plenty of work stations. This is not at all optimal and so I put it to you my friends - show me what you can create in a 5x5.
If you do try, be sure to keep the build in a 5x5, this includes floor to ceiling.
The birch wood is stairs turned backwards and upside down around the outer edge with slabs around the trapdoor. The rest is self explanatory. Trapdoor on top is only way in.
The Grindstone is in the center of this floor and is the block we land on when coming in through the trapdoor on top. When the trapdoor is closed we are put into crawl mode. (I noticed that the mud block and the Grindstone that is placed on the side of a block are the exact same height when we are on them). Wanting the Grindstone for the enchantment area made me decide to place it here and while on the grindstone we can reach everyone of the storage crates on this level. The full blocks we can not go onto as they are to big in this space but we can access everything we need on this level.
Room for a bed and the minecart to the right is for getting from the middle floor to the top floor. When exiting the minecart we are put onto the bed. There is a trapdoor at the foot of the bed, this is the access to the middle floor, (enchanting).
By opening a trapdoor on the floor here I can get access to an ender chest and an anvil. You can see the Grindstone above the enchant table. I can also access a few storage barrels where the bed is on the floor above.
This floor has most of the storage barrels, multiple work stations, and what base is complete without a crafting table and ender chest.
This was fun to play around with so if you find yourself bored, give it a try and maybe you will come up with some extra sneaky cool ways of doing a 5x5 pop up base.
* there are no farms inside my base for space constrictions but there are no limits - do what you can inside the 5x5 limitation and I hope you break the game like never seen before.
Hope this helps, have fun out there.
